Description
Home shirt worn by Arsenal F.C. between 1992 and 1994, a period defined by one of the club’s most successful cup eras under manager George Graham. While league form was inconsistent following the introduction of the Premier League, Arsenal became England’s standout knockout side, winning a historic domestic double before going on to secure European success the following season.
The shirt features Arsenal’s traditional red body with white sleeves, defined by bold diagonal red and black striping across the sleeves. A white neckline with red and black detailing completes the look, making it one of the most iconic early-1990s Arsenal designs.
The 1992–93 season, the inaugural Premier League campaign, saw Arsenal struggle for consistency in the league and finish 10th. However, they made history in cup competitions by becoming the first English side to win both major domestic trophies in the same season. At Wembley, they defeated Sheffield Wednesday F.C. in both finals, first lifting the League Cup 2–1 before repeating the same scoreline in the FA Cup Final replay after an intense extra-time battle.
Ian Wright was the driving force of the attack, scoring 30 goals in all competitions and providing the decisive threat throughout the cup runs. His finishing and energy made him the standout forward of the season and a key reason for Arsenal’s success in knockout football.
The following 1993–94 campaign saw Arsenal finish 4th in the Premier League while shifting their focus towards European competition. Their most significant achievement came in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, where they progressed through a series of tightly controlled ties, conceding just one goal on the way to the final in Copenhagen.
In the final against defending champions Parma Calcio 1913, Arsenal produced a disciplined and resilient performance despite the absence of Ian Wright. A spectacular volley from Alan Smith proved decisive in a 1–0 victory, securing Arsenal’s first European trophy in over two decades.
The squad was built on the legendary defensive backbone of Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Nigel Winterburn, Lee Dixon and goalkeeper David Seaman, whose organisation and consistency defined George Graham’s system. Alongside them, the attacking threat of Wright and the creativity of Paul Merson ensured Arsenal remained dangerous even in tightly contested matches.
Worn during a historic domestic cup double and a European triumph, this shirt remains a symbol of one of Arsenal’s most successful and disciplined eras, marking the peak of George Graham’s managerial reign.
