Description
Home shirt worn by Arsenal F.C. during the 2004–05 season, a campaign that saw the club continue to build on the legacy of the Invincibles while adding another major trophy to Arsène Wenger’s growing collection.
The shirt features Arsenal’s traditional red body complemented by subtle yellow detailing throughout. White sleeves are finished with distinctive red lower sleeve panels, while red cuffs and a red-and-yellow trimmed neckline complete a design that perfectly captured the club’s identity during the mid-2000s.
Following their unbeaten Premier League triumph the previous season, Arsenal entered the campaign looking to defend their title. The Gunners extended their extraordinary unbeaten league run to 49 matches, setting an English top-flight record that remains untouched. Although the streak eventually ended and Chelsea claimed the championship, Arsenal still produced another outstanding season, finishing second with 83 points and scoring a league-high 87 goals.
Leading the attack was the sensational Thierry Henry, who once again established himself as one of the world's finest forwards. Henry scored 30 goals in all competitions and secured another Premier League Golden Boot, combining devastating pace, creativity, and clinical finishing. He was supported by an exceptional cast including Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg and José Antonio Reyes, helping Arsenal score 117 goals across all competitions.
The season's defining moment came in the FA Cup final against Manchester United F.C.. Despite spending large portions of the match under pressure, Arsenal held firm before prevailing 5–4 on penalties after a goalless draw. The victory secured the club's tenth FA Cup and provided a fitting reward for another highly competitive campaign.
The squad also showcased the blend of experience and emerging talent that characterised Wenger’s best sides. Captain Patrick Vieira continued to dominate midfield, while young stars such as Cesc Fàbregas gained valuable first-team experience. At the back, stalwarts including Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole remained key figures in one of the league’s strongest defensive units.
Worn during the final years of Arsenal’s Highbury era, this home shirt is closely associated with a team still operating at the peak of its powers. Combining attacking flair, world-class talent, and cup-winning success, it remains a favourite among supporters and a lasting reminder of one of the club’s most iconic periods.
