The shirt features a deep blue base with darker navy panels running down either side of the shirt and continuing beneath the sleeves, giving the design extra depth and structure. Across the middle sits Boca Juniors’ iconic yellow horizontal band, instantly defining the club’s identity and creating a bold contrast against the blue body. A blue neckline trimmed with a yellow stripe completes the design, tying together the classic Boca colours in a sharp early-2000s style.

The 2002–03 season was one of the most successful in Boca Juniors’ modern history under the return of legendary manager Carlos Bianchi. After a brief transitional spell in 2001–02, Boca quickly re-established their dominance, winning the 2003 Apertura title and returning to the top of Argentine football. The squad featured a powerful blend of experience and emerging talent, with Juan Román Riquelme orchestrating play before his departure to Europe, while Carlos Tevez emerged as a breakthrough star during this period. Marcelo Delgado provided consistent goals, and Roberto Abbondanzieri became a key figure in goal, known for his decisive performances in high-pressure matches.

The highlight of this era came in the 2003 Copa Libertadores, where Boca defeated Santos 5–1 on aggregate to reclaim South America’s most prestigious club trophy. Later that year, they completed another historic chapter by winning the Intercontinental Cup against AC Milan in a dramatic penalty shootout in Yokohama. This shirt is remembered as part of a second golden wave under Bianchi, representing Boca Juniors at the height of their continental and global dominance.
