Description

Home shirt worn by Celtic during their 1995/97 seasons.

The shirt features Celtic's green and white hoops, with the wider green bands printed in a tonal pattern of the club name in script lettering set against repeating crest roundels, and the narrower bands carrying a repeating wordmark print. A green and white striped wing collar sits over a green V shaped insert at the neck, giving the design a distinctive mid 1990s finish.

This shirt was worn by Tommy Burns' attacking side as they closed the gap on Rangers, with a squad built around Paul McStay and John Collins in midfield and a strike pairing of Pierre van Hooijdonk and Andreas Thom. In 1995/96 Celtic lost only one league match all season, yet finished four points behind Rangers, who clinched an eighth successive title. Van Hooijdonk finished as the division's top scorer with 26 goals, though Rangers knocked Celtic out of both domestic cups, and eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain ended their Cup Winners' Cup run 4-0 on aggregate. Paolo Di Canio and Jorge Cadete joined the attack for 1996/97, but Celtic again finished second as Rangers completed nine in a row, and after a Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Falkirk, Burns was sacked by chairman Fergus McCann.

Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
