Description

Away shirt worn by Celtic during their 1998/99 season.

The shirt features a black base covered in bands of a repeating tonal pattern built from the club's circular badge, separated by thin neon yellow green stripes that run across the body and down the sleeves. A bright neon yellow green collar with black striped trim and an open V neck finishes a bold, distinctive late 1990s design.

Celtic began 1998/99 as defending champions, having stopped Rangers winning ten titles in a row, but Wim Jansen's resignation left Slovak coach Jozef Venglos in charge for what proved to be a single season. There were bright moments, including the arrival of Lubomir Moravcik and a 5-1 win over Rangers at Celtic Park in November 1998, with Henrik Larsson scoring twice on his way to 38 goals for the season. Rangers, rebuilt under Dick Advocaat, finished six points clear and clinched the title with a 3-0 win at Celtic Park on 2 May 1999. Celtic also went out of the League Cup to Airdrieonians and lost to FC Zürich in the UEFA Cup second round. They reached the Scottish Cup final at the newly rebuilt Hampden Park on 29 May 1999, but a Rod Wallace goal gave Rangers a 1-0 win and the domestic treble.

🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.

Items with player printing or any customisation cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances (unless they arrive damaged, see question 2). All sales are final.
