Home shirt worn by C.D. Guadalajara during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, released as part of the club’s 110th Anniversary celebrations.

The shirt features Chivas’ traditional red and white vertical stripes, presented in a clean and modern layout that honours over a century of club history. The 2016/17 season stands as one of the most successful campaigns in the history of C.D. Guadalajara, as manager Matías Almeyda led the team to a historic domestic double. Chivas ended a 10.5-year league title drought by winning the Clausura 2017 Liga MX, while also lifting the Clausura 2017 Copa MX and the 2016 Supercopa MX.

The season began with early silverware in the Supercopa MX, where Chivas defeated Veracruz 2–0 in July 2016. In the Apertura 2016 campaign, the team finished 4th in the regular season and reached the quarter-finals of the Liga MX playoffs, where they were eliminated by rivals Club América. They also reached the final of the Copa MX (Apertura 2016), narrowly losing on penalties to Querétaro.

The defining moment came in the Clausura 2017 Liga MX playoffs, where Chivas finished 3rd in the regular season before embarking on a remarkable title run. They defeated Atlas, Toluca, and finally Tigres UANL in the final to secure the championship. After a 2–2 first-leg draw away from home, Chivas won the second leg 2–1 at Estadio Chivas to claim their 12th league title in dramatic fashion.

Key moments in the final included an early volley from Alan Pulido and a long-range strike from José Juan Vázquez, which helped secure the trophy despite a late response from Tigres. The squad’s success was built on a strong core including captain Carlos Salcido, creative midfielder Orbelín Pineda, and goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota, alongside a disciplined and high-intensity system that defined Almeyda’s management style.
