Description
Retro home shirt worn by England at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, as Bobby Robson’s side produced one of their most memorable modern-era campaigns.
Featuring a timeless white base with navy detailing, the design kept things clean and traditional. A navy V-neck collar and matching trim on the shoulders framed the shirt, while the classic crest sat proudly on the chest. The simplicity of the design perfectly reflected England’s traditional identity, sharp, uncluttered and instantly recognisable on the world stage.
Mexico ’86 became synonymous with brilliance and controversy. England recovered from a slow start to reach the quarter-finals, where they faced Argentina in one of football’s most infamous encounters. The match saw Diego Maradona score both the “Hand of God” and the “Goal of the Century,” but it also featured Gary Lineker continuing his remarkable form on his way to winning the Golden Boot.
Despite the heartbreak, the 1986 home shirt remains one of England’s most iconic World Cup kits, a classic look forever tied to drama, quality and a campaign that still sparks debate decades later.
