Home shirt worn by RCD Espanyol during the 1984–89 period.

The design features bold vertical blue and white stripes, creating a classic and timeless look synonymous with Espanyol’s identity. The alternating stripes provide a clean, balanced aesthetic while allowing the club crest and sponsor (where applicable) to remain prominently displayed on the chest. This traditional striped design reflects mid-1980s Spanish football kit style, combining simplicity with a strong sense of club heritage.

During the 1984–89 era, RCD Espanyol experienced one of the most dramatic periods in its history. Under coach Javier Clemente, the club achieved a historic European run in the 1987/88 UEFA Cup. Espanyol defeated giants like AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Club Brugge to reach the final, where they faced Bayer Leverkusen. After a 3–0 home win at Sarriá Stadium, they suffered an identical 0–3 defeat in the away leg and ultimately lost the title 3–2 on penalties, a defeat remembered as one of the most painful in the club’s history.

Domestically, the team also shone, achieving its best league finish of the decade in 1986/87 by ending 3rd in La Liga. However, just a year after their European final, Espanyol suffered a shocking relegation to the Segunda División at the end of the 1988/89 season. The blue-and-white striped home shirt from this era remains a symbol of both the club’s glory and heartbreak.

Wash at 30°C maximum. Higher temperatures can damage the fabric, fade colours, and crack printed lettering.

🔄 Cycle

Use a gentle or delicate cycle only. Avoid heavy spin cycles which can distort the shirt shape.

👕 Inside Out

Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.

🧴 Detergent

Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.

💨 Drying

Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.

🔥 Ironing

Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.

Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.

⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.

1. Can I return or exchange my retro shirt?

We operate a strict no-returns and no-exchanges policy. We do not accept returns for any reason, including change of mind, wrong size, or personal preference. Items with player printing or any customisation cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances (unless they arrive damaged, see question 2). All sales are final.

2. What happens if my shirt arrives damaged?

Please inspect your order immediately and contact us right away at [email protected] with your order number and clear photos of the damage.
If we confirm the issue, we will send you a free replacement shirt (shipping included) at no extra cost, and you can keep the original damaged item.

3. How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are prepared and dispatched within 3–4 business days.
UK delivery after dispatch: typically 5–7 business days.
International delivery after dispatch: typically 10–14 business days.

Monitor your tracking regularly. If you believe delivery has failed, first contact the courier yourself (using the tracking link we sent you) to reschedule delivery or arrange collection.
Then email us at [email protected]. We will investigate and confirm whether the package is lost (this usually takes 1–2 weeks after the scheduled delivery date). If confirmed lost, we will send you a free replacement (shipping included) at no extra cost.
