Description

Away shirt worn by Flamengo during the 1995 season.

The shirt features a clean white base with a bold black and red horizontal stripe running across the middle of the chest, creating a striking contrast against the lighter body. A red collar and neckline detailed with a thin black stripe add extra definition, while the red cuffs feature a black diamond geometric pattern that gives the shirt a distinctive mid-1990s aesthetic. The combination of classic club colours and sharp detailing makes this one of Flamengo’s most memorable away designs of the era.

The 1995 season was one of enormous expectation for Flamengo as the club celebrated its centenary year with a squad packed full of star power. To mark the occasion, Flamengo signed reigning FIFA World Player of the Year Romário from Barcelona, generating huge excitement among supporters and the Brazilian media.

Despite the anticipation surrounding the team, the season ultimately ended in disappointment. Flamengo struggled for consistency in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and finished 15th overall, well below expectations for a club of their stature. In the Campeonato Carioca, they reached the final phase but lost the title to rivals Fluminense in a dramatic 3–2 decider. The club also came close to international silverware, finishing as runners-up in the Supercopa Libertadores after losing 2–1 on aggregate to Independiente.

The team became famous for the “Attack of Dreams” (Ataque dos Sonhos), which paired Romário with Sávio and Edmundo. Although the trio displayed moments of incredible technical quality and attacking flair, tactical imbalance and inconsistency prevented Flamengo from fully capitalising on the immense talent within the squad.

One of the standout moments of the campaign came in the Copa do Brasil, where Flamengo produced an emphatic 8–0 victory over Kaburé-TO, demonstrating the attacking potential of the side at its best.

This away shirt is remembered as one of Flamengo’s most distinctive mid-1990s designs, representing a centenary season filled with expectation, superstar signings, and one of the most talked-about squads in Brazilian football history.

Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.
💨 Drying
Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
