Fluminense 2012 Anniversary Shirt

Anniversary shirt worn by Fluminense during the 2012 season.

The shirt features a clean white base, split across the front with a distinctive half-and-half design, one side white and the other soft grey, creating a modern commemorative look that stands out from the club’s traditional tricolour kits. The sleeves remain fully white, accented by maroon detailing running down each arm, while a white collar with a maroon stripe completes the design with a subtle nod to Fluminense’s historic colours.

The 2012 season was one of the most successful in Fluminense’s history, as the club won both the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and the Campeonato Carioca under manager Abel Braga. Nicknamed the “Time de Guerreiros” (Team of Warriors), Fluminense secured the Brasileirão title with three matches to spare on 11 November 2012 following a 3–2 victory over Palmeiras. They finished the campaign with 77 points, five ahead of Atlético Mineiro, marking a dominant league-winning run.

In state competition, Fluminense also captured the Campeonato Carioca, defeating Botafogo 5–1 on aggregate in the final (4–1 and 1–0), while earlier winning the Taça Guanabara after a 3–1 victory over Vasco da Gama. In the Copa Libertadores, the team reached the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated 2–1 on aggregate by Boca Juniors.

Key performers included Fred, who scored 20 goals to finish as Brasileirão top scorer and was named league MVP, and Diego Cavalieri, who won the Golden Glove after conceding just 33 goals in 38 matches. Both Carlinhos and Cavalieri were also included in the league’s official Team of the Year, alongside Fred.

This anniversary shirt is remembered as a special commemorative design from a landmark season, symbolising Fluminense’s double-winning campaign and one of the strongest eras in the club’s modern history.
