Description

Home shirt worn by Grêmio during the 1995–96 seasons.

The shirt features Grêmio’s traditional blue and black vertical stripes, refined with thin white pinstripes that add depth and texture to the design. The classic striped layout reinforces the club’s strong visual identity from one of its most successful eras. A white collar sits at the top of the shirt, finished with distinctive light blue and black zigzag detailing, giving the kit a unique mid-90s aesthetic that stands out from more conventional designs of the period.

The 1995 and 1996 seasons are widely regarded as a golden era in Grêmio’s history, defined by domestic and continental dominance under legendary manager Luiz Felipe Scolari. The team combined physical intensity, tactical discipline, and clinical finishing to establish itself as one of the strongest sides in South America.

In 1995, Grêmio conquered the Copa Libertadores, defeating Atlético Nacional in the final (3–1 at home and 1–1 away). Striker Mário Jardel was the tournament’s top scorer with 12 goals and a decisive figure in the club’s continental success. That same year, Grêmio also reached the Intercontinental Cup final in Tokyo, where they were narrowly defeated by Ajax on penalties after a 0–0 draw.

The squad featured several iconic players who defined the era. Goalkeeper Danrlei provided stability at the back, while defender Adilson Batista was a key part of the defensive structure. On the right side, Francisco Arce contributed both defensively and offensively, becoming an important presence in Scolari’s system.

In 1996, Grêmio continued their dominance by winning the Campeonato Brasileiro, overcoming Portuguesa in the final despite losing the first leg 2–0, thanks to a strong comeback in the return fixture and their superior regular-season record. Paulo Nunes finished as the league’s top scorer with 16 goals and became one of the standout figures of the campaign. The club also lifted the Recopa Sudamericana with a dominant 4–1 win over Independiente and secured the Campeonato Gaúcho title, further cementing their dominance during this period.

This shirt is remembered as a classic representation of Grêmio’s golden mid-1990s era, symbolising a team that achieved both continental glory and sustained domestic success at the highest level.

Washing Instructions

Care Instructions To keep your shirt looking its best for years to come, please follow these guidelines carefully.
🌡️ Temperature
Wash at 30°C maximum. Higher temperatures can damage the fabric, fade colours, and crack printed lettering.
🔄 Cycle
Use a gentle or delicate cycle only. Avoid heavy spin cycles which can distort the shirt shape.
👕 Inside Out
Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.
🧴 Detergent
Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.
💨 Drying
Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
