Description

Away shirt worn by Liverpool F.C. during the 1991–92 season, the club’s centenary year, a transitional campaign that combined FA Cup success with a disappointing league finish under manager Graeme Souness.

The shirt features a distinctive green base, giving it one of the more unusual and memorable alternative looks of early-1990s Liverpool kits. Three bold diagonal white stripes emerge from the right shoulder across the upper front of the design, while a matching green neckline maintains a clean, unified appearance throughout the shirt.

The 1991–92 season was one of contrast for Liverpool. In the First Division, the club finished 6th with 64 points, marking their lowest league finish since 1965 and signalling a clear period of transition as the Premier League era approached. Despite inconsistency in league form, Liverpool still delivered silverware in the FA Cup.

The FA Cup run ended in a 2–0 victory over Sunderland A.F.C. at Wembley Stadium. Second-half goals from Michael Thomas and Ian Rush secured the trophy, with assistant coach Ronnie Moran taking charge on matchday as Souness recovered from heart surgery.

The season also marked a significant restructuring of the squad. Liverpool brought in key signings such as Dean Saunders, Mark Wright, and Michael Thomas, while established figures like Peter Beardsley and Steve McMahon departed as part of a wider rebuild.
