Description
Third shirt worn by Liverpool F.C. during the 1994 to 1996 period.
The shirt features a bold yellow base with a subtle repeating Liverpool crest pattern woven throughout the fabric, creating a textured all-over design that gives the shirt a premium, detailed finish. A larger club crest is positioned prominently on one side of the chest, balanced by smaller crest motifs on the opposite side, producing an unusual asymmetrical layout. The sleeves are finished with three black stripes, while a black neckline with a yellow stripe completes the design, adding strong contrast and a classic mid-1990s aesthetic.
This shirt is closely associated with the Roy Evans era at Liverpool F.C., a period defined by exciting attacking football and the rise of a new generation of talent. The 1994–95 season marked a return to silverware as Liverpool finished 4th in the Premier League with 74 points and won the League Cup at Wembley, defeating Bolton Wanderers F.C. thanks to a brilliant performance from Steve McManaman.
The emergence of Robbie Fowler was central to Liverpool’s resurgence, as the young striker became one of the most prolific forwards in Europe. Alongside him, experienced striker Ian Rush provided leadership and a clinical edge during his final years at the club.
The 1995–96 season saw Liverpool push even closer to the top of English football, finishing 3rd in the Premier League with 71 points. The season is remembered for the arrival of Stan Collymore, whose partnership with Fowler produced one of the most feared attacking duos in the league. Their iconic 4–3 victory over Newcastle United F.C. at Anfield became one of the defining matches of the Premier League era.
Liverpool also reached the FA Cup Final in 1996, narrowly losing 1–0 to Manchester United F.C. in a match remembered as much for its tension and off-pitch narrative as the football itself. The season also marked the departure of Ian Rush, who left after scoring his final goal for the club.
This third shirt remains one of Liverpool’s most distinctive mid-1990s designs, reflecting an era of attacking brilliance, near-misses, and the emergence of a squad that defined English football’s “Spice Boys” generation.
