Description

Goalkeeper shirt worn by Liverpool F.C. during the 1995–96 season, a thrilling yet ultimately heartbreaking campaign under manager Roy Evans, defined by attacking brilliance, iconic matches, and the rise of the “Spice Boys” era.

The shirt features a striking yellow and orange base with a bold triangular and dashed geometric pattern running throughout the fabric, layered with sharp white and black streaks that enhance its aggressive mid-90s aesthetic. Black detailing defines the design, with the shoulders and undersides of the long sleeves finished in black, alongside a black neckline and matching cuffs, giving the kit a powerful, high-contrast goalkeeper identity.

The 1995–96 season saw Liverpool establish themselves as one of the most entertaining teams in Europe, finishing 3rd in the Premier League with 71 points. While inconsistent defensively at times, they were one of the league’s most feared attacking sides, built around the devastating partnership of Robbie Fowler and Stan Collymore.

The squad was filled with flair and creativity, led in midfield by Steve McManaman, whose vision and dribbling helped unlock some of the league’s toughest defences. Despite their attacking dominance, Liverpool narrowly missed out on major silverware, suffering FA Cup final disappointment against Manchester United F.C. via a late goal from Eric Cantona.

One of the season’s defining moments came in the legendary 4–3 victory over Newcastle United at Anfield on 3 April 1996, a match widely regarded as one of the greatest in Premier League history. It perfectly encapsulated Liverpool’s fearless attacking identity during this era.

In goal, Liverpool’s depth included a competitive group: David James as first choice, backed by experienced veteran Stephen Pears, young Danish goalkeeper Michael Stensgaard, and academy graduate Tony Warner, all forming part of a squad built for both present competition and future development.

This goalkeeper shirt is remembered as part of one of Liverpool’s most visually distinctive and emotionally charged eras, an iconic mid-90s design linked to a season of unforgettable goals, dramatic highs, and near-misses on the biggest stages.

Washing Instructions

Care Instructions To keep your shirt looking its best for years to come, please follow these guidelines carefully.
🌡️ Temperature
Wash at 30°C maximum. Higher temperatures can damage the fabric, fade colours, and crack printed lettering.
🔄 Cycle
Use a gentle or delicate cycle only. Avoid heavy spin cycles which can distort the shirt shape.
👕 Inside Out
Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.
🧴 Detergent
Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.
💨 Drying
Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
