Description
Away shirt worn by Manchester United F.C. during the 1999/00 season, a dominant follow-up campaign to the club’s historic Treble-winning year of 1998/99. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, United successfully retained the FA Premier League title in emphatic fashion, finishing with a then-record 18-point margin and cementing themselves as the clear force in English football at the turn of the millennium.
The shirt is defined by a deep navy blue base, giving it a sleek and understated post-Treble aesthetic. Across the entire body, fine horizontal white-silver pinstripes run continuously from front to back, adding subtle texture and movement to the design. This layered striping creates a refined visual rhythm, balancing elegance with the club’s typically bold identity.
On the chest, the monochrome white-silver embroidered club crest sits over the heart, offering a clean and premium interpretation of the traditional badge. The matching white-silver branding on the opposite side maintains symmetry, reinforcing the minimalist and polished look that defines this away kit.
The collar is a smart black polo-style construction, featuring a short, buttonless placket and a discreet red inner lining that subtly references the club’s iconic colours. Solid black cuffs complete the silhouette, giving the sleeves a structured finish and tying the design together with a strong, tailored edge.
On the pitch, Manchester United F.C. delivered one of their most dominant Premier League campaigns, collecting 91 points with 28 wins, 7 draws, and just 3 defeats. They wrapped up the title on 22 April 2000 with four games remaining, following an 11-match winning streak to close the season. The team scored an extraordinary 97 league goals while conceding only 45, showcasing their attacking power and balance across the squad.
The season also marked a transitional moment in goal following the departure of Peter Schmeichel, but the team remained relentless. Key contributions came from the prolific strike partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, alongside super-sub Ole Gunnar Solskjær and midfield leader Roy Keane, whose leadership earned him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award. David Beckham also played a crucial creative role, finishing among the league’s top assist providers as United dominated both ends of the pitch.
