Description

Third shirt worn by Newcastle United F.C. during the 1993–94 and 1994–95 seasons, a formative period in the club’s modern history under manager Kevin Keegan, when the Magpies transformed into one of the most exciting attacking sides in English football.

The shirt features a bold green base with vertical blue stripes running throughout the design, creating a striking and unconventional colour combination for the club during this era. It is finished with a matching blue collar and blue cuffs, giving the shirt a clean, cohesive look while standing out as one of the more distinctive alternative kits of the mid-1990s.

The 1993–94 season marked Newcastle United’s return to the top flight following promotion, and they immediately established themselves as a major force in English football. Finishing 3rd in the Premier League with 77 points, Keegan’s side became known for their fearless, attacking style, scoring more goals than any other team in the division and thrilling supporters across the country.

Central to their success was the extraordinary form of Andy Cole, who scored 41 goals in all competitions, forming a devastating partnership with veteran forward Peter Beardsley. Together, they led Newcastle’s charge into European qualification for the first time in decades, supported by influential figures such as Rob Lee, Lee Clark, and Steve Howey.

The following 1994–95 campaign began in spectacular fashion, with Newcastle winning nine of their opening eleven league matches and briefly topping the Premier League table. However, the mid-season departure of Andy Cole to Manchester United F.C. in a shock transfer significantly altered the course of their season.

Despite this setback, Newcastle continued to compete strongly, finishing 6th in the Premier League and maintaining their reputation as one of the most entertaining teams in the country. New arrivals such as Philippe Albert added quality and flair, helping to lay the foundation for the iconic “Entertainers” side that would follow.

This third shirt is closely associated with the early evolution of Newcastle United’s modern identity, an era defined by attacking football, rapid progress, and the emergence of a team that would soon challenge for the Premier League title.

Washing Instructions

Care Instructions To keep your shirt looking its best for years to come, please follow these guidelines carefully.
🌡️ Temperature
Wash at 30°C maximum. Higher temperatures can damage the fabric, fade colours, and crack printed lettering.
🔄 Cycle
Use a gentle or delicate cycle only. Avoid heavy spin cycles which can distort the shirt shape.
👕 Inside Out
Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.
🧴 Detergent
Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.
💨 Drying
Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
