The shirt features a grey and light blue base built around a bold triangular and dashed geometric pattern, layered with streaks of white and black for a distinctive mid-1990s goalkeeper aesthetic. It is finished with black shoulders and black undersides to the long sleeves, along with a black neckline and cuffs, giving the design a strong and commanding presence in goal.

Throughout the 1995–96 season, Newcastle rotated between two main goalkeepers. Shaka Hislop began the campaign as the preferred number one, making 24 Premier League appearances after arriving from Reading and quickly establishing himself as Keegan’s first-choice option.

As the season developed, Pavel Srníček, a hugely popular figure among supporters, fought his way back into the starting role, ultimately making 15 Premier League appearances and sharing responsibility during the most intense phases of Newcastle’s title challenge.

Behind them, experienced backup Mike Hooper provided squad depth without featuring in the league, while young prospect Steve Harper spent time developing on loan as part of his early career progression.

The season itself became one of the most iconic in English football history. Newcastle surged to a 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League before ultimately being overtaken by Manchester United F.C. in a dramatic end-of-season collapse, finishing second but earning widespread admiration for their attacking style.

Despite the heartbreak, the campaign produced unforgettable moments, including the famous 4–3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, and established Newcastle as one of the most exciting teams of the Premier League era. Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.

🧴 Detergent

Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.

💨 Drying

Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.

🔥 Ironing

Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.

Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.

⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
