Description

Goalkeeper shirt worn by Newcastle United F.C. during the unforgettable 1995–96 season, a campaign that saw Kevin Keegan’s “Entertainers” come agonisingly close to winning the Premier League title.

The shirt features a vibrant green and purple base decorated with a bold triangular and dashed geometric pattern, enhanced by streaks of white and black throughout the design. Black panels cover the shoulders and undersides of the long sleeves, while a black neckline and cuffs complete one of the most eye-catching goalkeeper shirts of the decade.

This goalkeeper shirt was worn during a season in which Newcastle captivated English football with their fearless attacking style. The Magpies led the Premier League by 12 points in January and looked destined to secure their first top-flight title since 1927. However, a dramatic late-season collapse allowed Manchester United F.C. to overturn the deficit and claim the championship, leaving Newcastle to finish as runners-up on 78 points.

The goalkeeping duties were shared primarily between Shaka Hislop and Pavel Srníček. Hislop arrived from Reading before the season and initially established himself as first choice, making 24 Premier League appearances. Fan favourite Srníček later regained his place and featured 15 times in the league as Newcastle battled through the closing stages of the title race.

Behind them, veteran goalkeeper Mike Hooper provided experienced cover, while future club stalwart Steve Harpercontinued his development as a young prospect.

The team itself was packed with attacking talent. Les Ferdinand finished as the club’s leading scorer with 29 goals in all competitions, supported by captain Peter Beardsley, the mercurial David Ginola, energetic midfielder Rob Lee, and January signing Faustino Asprilla.

Although the season ended in heartbreak, it remains one of the most celebrated campaigns in Premier League history. 🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
