Description
Home shirt worn by Nottingham Forest F.C. during the 1994 to 1996 period.
The shirt features a vibrant red base with two bold black vertical panels running from the tops of the shoulders down towards the chest, creating a distinctive and aggressive look. A black collar and neckline add further contrast, while a thin white stripe around the collar provides a smart finishing touch. The design perfectly captures the confidence of a Nottingham Forest side that exceeded expectations both domestically and in Europe during the mid-1990s.
The 1994–95 season was one of the finest campaigns in Nottingham Forest’s modern history. Returning to the Premier League after promotion, manager Frank Clark guided Forest to a remarkable 3rd-place finish with 77 points, securing qualification for the UEFA Cup. The club went unbeaten in its opening 11 league matches and became one of the most entertaining teams in the division. A stunning 7–1 victory away to Sheffield Wednesday F.C. highlighted the attacking quality within the squad.
Much of Forest’s success came through the partnership of Stan Collymore and Bryan Roy. Collymore finished as the club’s top scorer with 25 goals in all competitions, while Roy added pace and creativity from the flanks. Club captain Stuart Pearce remained a key leader, helping Forest establish themselves among the Premier League’s elite.
The 1995–96 season brought fresh challenges following Collymore’s club-record transfer to Liverpool F.C.. While Forest could not replicate their previous league campaign, they enjoyed a memorable run in the UEFA Cup. Victories over Malmö FF, AJ Auxerre, and Olympique Lyonnais carried them to the quarter-finals, where they were eventually eliminated by Bayern Munich.
Domestically, Forest finished 9th in the Premier League despite lacking a prolific goalscorer. Jason Lee, Bryan Roy, and Ian Woan jointly finished as the club’s top scorers with eight goals each. The team also reached the FA Cup quarter-finals, capping another respectable campaign.
This shirt is remembered as a symbol of Nottingham Forest’s successful mid-1990s resurgence, representing a period that saw the club rise from newly promoted outsiders to Premier League contenders and European quarter-finalists.
