Description

Home shirt worn by Rangers during their 1987/90 seasons.

The shirt uses a tonal blue checkerboard pattern woven across the body, with a stand-up collar carrying thin red, white and blue stripes along its edge. A short button placket at the neck keeps the design clean, letting the subtle check texture do the work rather than heavy trim.

Rangers wore this shirt through a period of sustained dominance under Graeme Souness. After finishing third in 1987/88, the club regained the Scottish Premier Division title in 1988/89, the first of what would become nine consecutive championships, and retained the League Cup. The following season brought a third league title in four years, overshadowed at the time by the controversial signing of Mo Johnston, a high profile former Celtic player, who scored the winner in a November Old Firm match and finished the campaign as the club's top league scorer.

The shirt's subtle checkerboard design ran through the peak of Souness's Rangers, framing back to back league titles and the club's landmark signing of Mo Johnston.

Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
