SC Corinthians 1999 Third Shirt

Third shirt worn by Sport Club Corinthians Paulista during the 1999 season.

The shirt features a bold black base combined with distinctive grey side panels running down either side of the front, extending upwards around the lower sections of the sleeves. Bright yellow detailing separates the black and grey sections, adding a sharp contrast that gives the design a futuristic late-90s aesthetic. The 1999 season stands as one of the most successful in Corinthians’ history, with the club securing both the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Campeonato Paulista titles under manager Oswaldo de Oliveira. The campaign cemented the team’s place among the dominant Brazilian sides of the era and formed a key chapter in the club’s celebrated “Glorious Decade.”

In the Brasileirão, Corinthians finished top of the regular season before defeating Atlético Mineiro in the final series to claim their third national championship. The club also lifted the Campeonato Paulista title after a dramatic final against Palmeiras, remembered for the infamous Edílson ball-juggling incident that became one of the defining moments of Brazilian football in the 1990s.

On the continental stage, Corinthians reached the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores before being eliminated on penalties by Palmeiras in a fiercely contested tie.

The squad featured several legendary players, including goalkeeper Dida, midfield stars Marcelinho Carioca, Vampeta, and Freddy Rincón, alongside forwards Edílson and Luizão.

This third shirt is remembered as one of Corinthians’ most unique designs of the era, combining experimental late-90s styling with a season of domestic dominance and one of the strongest squads in club history.
