Description

Away shirt worn by Tottenham Hotspur F.C. during the 1994–95 season, a striking and unconventional design from one of the most dramatic campaigns in the club’s modern history, defined by financial controversy, managerial upheaval, and the arrival of superstar striker Jürgen Klinsmann.

The shirt features a deep navy base with a bold purple scratch-style pattern that flows from the right side of the shirt, cascading diagonally down the front for a dynamic, almost aggressive visual effect. This same scratch motif also appears on the left sleeve, reinforcing the asymmetric, modern feel of the design. The kit is finished with a navy collar featuring a purple and white stripe, alongside a navy neckline accented with a white stripe, giving it a layered and sharply detailed finish.

The 1994–95 season began under manager Osvaldo Ardiles, who implemented an ultra-attacking style that produced some of the most entertaining football of the era but left Spurs defensively vulnerable. Early tactical setups often revolved around a fluid, forward-heavy unit featuring Klinsmann, Teddy Sheringham, Nick Barmby, Darren Anderton and Ilie Dumitrescu.

Off the pitch, Tottenham endured significant turbulence, facing serious sanctions related to historical financial irregularities before successfully appealing key punishments. Despite the disruption, the squad’s attacking quality ensured they remained one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League.

Ardiles was eventually dismissed in November 1994 following a League Cup defeat to Notts County, with caretaker responsibility briefly taken by Steve Perryman before the appointment of Gerry Francis. Francis restored defensive organisation and discipline, stabilising results and guiding Spurs up the table.

Under Francis, Tottenham recovered strongly to finish 7th in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-finals, including a memorable 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. Klinsmann was the standout performer of the season, scoring 29 goals in all competitions and winning the FWA Footballer of the Year award for his outstanding impact.

Washing Instructions

Care Instructions To keep your shirt looking its best for years to come, please follow these guidelines carefully.
🌡️ Temperature
Wash at 30°C maximum. Higher temperatures can damage the fabric, fade colours, and crack printed lettering.
🔄 Cycle
Use a gentle or delicate cycle only. Avoid heavy spin cycles which can distort the shirt shape.
👕 Inside Out
Always turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the back print, badges, and any embroidery.
🧴 Detergent
Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can degrade print quality.
💨 Drying
Air dry only — lay flat or hang away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry as heat will shrink fabric and damage prints.
🔥 Ironing
Do not iron directly over printed areas or badges. If needed, iron on the reverse side only using a low heat setting.
Do not dry clean. Do not wring or twist. Wash separately from items with zips or rough textures that could snag the fabric.
⚠️ Back Print & Badge Care Printed names, numbers, and woven badges are particularly sensitive to heat and abrasion. Always wash inside out, never iron over them directly, and avoid contact with rough surfaces during washing.
