Description
Away shirt worn by Tottenham Hotspur F.C. during the 2006–07 season, a memorable campaign under manager Martin Jol that saw Spurs combine exciting attacking football with strong cup performances and a 5th-place Premier League finish, securing UEFA Cup qualification for a second consecutive year.
The shirt is based on a clean light blue foundation, giving it a striking alternative identity compared to Tottenham’s traditional home colours. A key visual feature is the navy curved panel wrapping around the upper back of the shirt, adding contrast and structure to the design. This is complemented by a light blue neckline and navy cuffs, creating a balanced and modern finish typical of mid-2000s Spurs kits.
The 2006–07 season started slowly for Tottenham in the Premier League, but the squad improved significantly in the second half of the campaign. Strong home form at White Hart Lane proved crucial, with Spurs winning 12 of their 19 home league matches, helping them climb into the top five and secure 60 points overall.
Spurs also enjoyed an impressive run across all domestic and European competitions, reaching the quarter-finals or semi-finals in every tournament they entered. However, a congested fixture schedule eventually caught up with the squad, and they suffered narrow exits in multiple competitions within a short period.
In the UEFA Cup, Tottenham reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated 4–3 on aggregate by eventual winners Sevilla FC, after a hard-fought campaign featuring strong performances throughout the group and knockout stages.
In the FA Cup, Spurs also reached the quarter-finals but were beaten 2–1 in a replay by eventual winners Chelsea, while in the League Cup they advanced to the semi-finals before being knocked out by rivals Arsenal over two legs.
The standout feature of the season was Tottenham’s devastating attacking trio. Dimitar Berbatov enjoyed a brilliant debut season, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 23 goals in all competitions, while Robbie Keane matched his output with 22 goals of his own. Jermain Defoe also contributed heavily with 18 goals, giving Spurs one of the most dangerous forward lines in the Premier League.
Midfielder Jermaine Jenas added further attacking support from midfield, contributing key goals during Spurs’ strong second-half surge.
Overall, this shirt represents a highly competitive and entertaining era for Tottenham, defined by fluid attacking football, deep cup runs, and a return to consistent European qualification under Martin Jol.
