Description
Home shirt worn by Tottenham Hotspur F.C. during the historic 2009–10 season, when Harry Redknapp guided Spurs to a fourth-place Premier League finish and secured UEFA Champions League qualification for the first time in the club’s history.
The shirt features a traditional white base enhanced by bold yellow detailing. Two yellow accents flow from the tops of the shoulders and meet at the centre of the chest, creating a distinctive focal point. Matching yellow side panels run down either side of the shirt and are finished with black trim along the lower edge. The design is completed by a clean white neckline and an unusual asymmetric detail, a single black cuff on the right sleeve, making this one of Tottenham’s most recognisable home shirts of the modern era.
The 2009–10 campaign proved to be a landmark season for Spurs. Under Harry Redknapp, the club established itself among the Premier League’s elite, finishing 4th with 70 points from 21 wins, 7 draws and 10 defeats. Tottenham scored 67 league goals while conceding just 41, combining attacking flair with improved defensive stability throughout the season.
The defining moment arrived on 5 May 2010 when Spurs travelled to Manchester City knowing victory would all but secure a top-four finish. A second-half header from Peter Crouch earned a famous 1–0 victory, sealing Tottenham’s place in the UEFA Champions League and marking one of the most important nights in the club’s modern history.
Leading the attack was Jermain Defoe, who finished as Tottenham’s top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions, including 18 in the Premier League. Crouch provided the perfect strike partner, contributing crucial goals throughout the campaign, while the creativity of Luka Modrić and Tom Huddlestone gave Spurs control in midfield.
The season also marked the emergence of Gareth Bale as a genuine star. Having transitioned from left-back into a more advanced role, Bale delivered a series of outstanding performances that showcased the world-class talent he would soon become renowned for across Europe.
In cup competitions, Tottenham reached the FA Cup semi-finals before losing 2–0 to Portsmouth, while their League Cup campaign ended in the fifth round against Manchester United.
Supported by influential figures such as captain Ledley King, Aaron Lennon and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, Spurs completed one of the most successful seasons in their modern history.
This shirt represents the campaign that changed Tottenham’s trajectory forever, a season that delivered Champions League football, established the club among England’s elite, and laid the foundation for the success that followed throughout the next decade.
